A cord of wood is 4' x 4' x 8' but a cord of split wood contains quite a bit more wood usually than a cord of unsplit wood.

As to cost, it depends on the kind of wood and the area you live in -- and how close you are to a major city. A cord of aspen sells for C$150 here 150 miles NW of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Closer than about twenty five miles to the city, the same cord costs C$250.00 delivered, not stacked. For birch firewood the prices are C$225 and C$350 respectively.

If you want the wood neatly stacked in your yard, most venders will do it for about $25.00 -- as long as they can get their truck right beside wherever you want your wood stacked.

A full cord is 4'x4'x8', or 128 cubic ft.
Price will vary in different parts of the country and the local price of alternative fuels will also influence the price.
No set standard.
