What is the popping noise coming from my Samsung LCD Projection TV?

Postby irvine » Wed Nov 11, 2009 8:21 am

So I have a 56" Samsung LCD Projection TV, and just recently 2 days ago the lamp burnt out. I had this tv for about 1-1/2 years and the lamp already burnt. Also throughout my use of this TV, I sometimes can hear little popping noises, almost like the sound u get from when u burn firewood, and u makes the pop/crackle noise. Is there something wrong with my TV? I noticed the lamp went out because on the rear side, where the lamp sits, there used to be a light, but 2 days ago that light no longer lit up. So that's how I knew. But I don't get what the noises coming from inside are.

Please no jokes, I'm serious because I spent about $1,000 on this TV and I just don't get what the noises are!

Thanks in advance!

well if your lamp burned out and your hearing noises like popping like fire wood then it might be best that you first unplug the television and contact Samsung and ask for A television technician see it sounds like your television is going out on you and when you do talk to the technician make sure that you tell the person every thing that your set is doing to you

In your case, with your symptoms, I would replace the lamp's power supply module, because that popping indicates the possibility of a poor lamp connector, which means it may very well EAT lamps.

Which means MORE money over the life of the TV set.
